In this blog, we will give a brief tutorial on how to configure VLANs using Grandstream's GDMS Cloud management tool.
This blog will only demonstrate how to configure VLANs and will not delve into what VLANs are and why you should use them. For more information on this, Grandstream has a video covering this available here.
This guide will utilise the following Grandstream devices:
Step 1
Log in to GDMS Cloud and navigate to the network you want to configure VLANs for. Add your devices in the Devices tab:
Step 2
Navigate to Settings -> LAN. Click add new LAN and populate with appropriate settings:
Step 3 (Optional)
Optionally, you can change the default LAN from 192.168.80.0/24. Devices may need a reboot to pull new IP addresses.
Step 4
At this stage, the VLANs will have now pushed to the router and switches. The next step is to apply the "All VLANs" profile to all Trunk ports.
Step 5
Once the "All VLANs" profile is applied to all Trunk ports, you can now apply the Port Profile of any given VLAN to a specific port to convert it to an Access port on said VLAN:
You can also create WiFi networks that utilise the new VLANs:
