New Zealand ISPs typically deliver their fibre connections via one of two methods:

  1. DHCP with VLAN 10 tag
  2. PPPoE with VLAN 10 tag

In this blog, we will demonstrate how to configure both options on the Grandstream GWN7052/7062 routers.

This blog was created using a GWN7062 on firmware version 1.0.5.9

Step 1

Connect to your GWN router via ethernet or WiFi and navigate your browser to 192.168.80.1 (type this in your address bar)

Step 2

Navigate to the Network Settings -> WAN on the home screen as per below

Step 3

Input your ISPs internet setting (you'll typically find this on their website)

Step 3 - PPPoE with VLAN tag

Below is an example configuration of Spark NZ's fibre settings (some providers require unique username/passwords)

Step 3 - DHCP with VLAN tag

Below is an example configuration of using DHCP with VLAN tag

Please note that this configuration is accurate at the time of writing.
