In this guide we will show you how to configure a Cambium cnPilot R-Series Router for use with UFB (Ultrafast Fibre Broadband) in New Zealand. There are several options of residential router in Cambium's range, today we will be using the R195W which is suitable for gigabit connections: https://www.gowifi.co.nz/wireless/pl-r195wana-rw.html

Step 1 - Login to the Router

Power on the router and connect your PC / Laptop directly to one of the yellow LAN ports, in your browser go to https://192.168.11.1/

You may be presented with an SSL error, simply click 'Advanced' and then 'Proceed to 192.168.11.1'

You should then be presented with the login prompt below.

Enter the default credentials and then click 'Login':

Username: admin

Password: admin

Step 2a - Configure the WAN Interface (PPPoE with VLAN10)

- Set the 'WAN IP Mode' to 'PPPoE'

- Select the 'Administration' tab at the top of the page

- Set the 'User Type' to 'Admin User'

- Complete the 'New User Name', 'New Password' & 'Confirm Password' fields

- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Save'

- Repeat the process for the Normal & Basic Users

Step 4 - Optional; Configure the Timezone & NTP (Network Time Protocol)

You may have noticed that the time and date displayed in the top right-hand corner are incorrect, to update this with accurate details we need to configure the Timezone and NTP server.

- Select the 'Administration' tab at the top of the page

- Scroll down to the Time/Date Settings

- Set the timezone to '(GMT+12:00) New Zealand'

- Configure the 'Primary NTP Server', in this example we have used a public pool: 'nz.pool.ntp.org'

- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Save'

Step 5 - Applying Configuration and Testing the Connection

Once you have completed the previous steps you will just need to reboot the router so that it can apply all changes.

- Scroll to the top of the page

- Click the 'Reboot' button in the top right-hand corner of the window

The Router will come back online after a few minutes and if the blue WAN port is connected to your Fibre ONT you should have internet access within about 5-10 minutes after reboot.
