This guide will show you how to set up your new AmpliFi Router to a fibre connection using the app.
Prerequisite
Your Amplifi must be running firmware version 2.4.3 or later. If not, connect your Amplifi to an existing internet connection and upgrade the firmware before proceeding with this guide.
For the purposes of this guide, I will be using the iOS app v1.7.0
- From the System page, tap on the image of the device (this is assuming you have proceeded through the basic configuration):
- From the Settings page, select the Internet tab:
- Scroll down the page and enable VLAN ID and enter the appropriate VLAN number. This is ISP-dependent but is typically 10:
- Scroll back to the top of the page and select the Network Type tab:
Select PPPoE:
Fill in the PPPoE Username and PPPoE Password, you can find these settings on most ISP websites:
Plug your ethernet cable into your AmpliFi’s blue internet port and the other end into the ONT.
Test the connection by connecting a wireless device (such as a mobile phone) to the AmpliFi and try browsing to a website. If successful, you have now set up Amplifi for fibre.
