Easy VPN set up using AmpliFi Alien and the Teleport App

Do you have a NAS at home that you want to connect to from your local cafe? Want to establish a secure tunnel with minimal configuration?

Great news! The AmpliFi Teleport App creates a secure VPN tunnel to any AmpliFi router with only a few button pushes. We've found in our testing that it works exceptionally well with the AmpliFi Alien: https://www.gowifi.co.nz/amplifi/afi-aln-r.html

How to configure

This guide assumes you've set up you're AmpliFi router and downloaded the AmpliFi and Teleport apps

Open the AmpliFi app and navigate to the Guest tab. If not already, enable remote management (requires a social login) and click Generate code:

Open the Teleport app and paste in this code. You will then need to accept the VPN configuration profile and you will be presented with the connection page. From here, you can toggle on and off the VPN with a simple button push:

Voila! You now have a VPN ready to go.
